Strange ( h/w related?) problem booting Windows 95
I am having a strange problem after upgrading the CPU in my system. My original configuration was: Pentium 166mhz (non MMX) VIA VA-503+ motherboard (Apollo) Matrox After starting the system for the first time, I began getting display corruption in Windows 98 after about 5 minutes (black lines, boxes, etc.

The cursor keeps flashing, and there is no display corruption, but I can't do anything but press the reset button. It seems a bit strange that it fails the same way regardless of what I do - could it possibly be a hardware/memtest incompatibility, and not actually a faulty memory problem?

New Information On OS/2 Part 1
Has anyone met with the strange behaviour of the TFT before ? One thing to mention is that I used 2.2.20-idepci kernel to boot the installation and compile the new kernel all the time with no I did not however, run the xserver on that so cant say if the terminal display corruption is due to the new kernel.

Its just the software which runs it thats not always fine and the symptoms of display corruption imply graphics driver issues.
